Welcome, I am here to help you.

Welcome to the Sugar Free Solutions Blog, my name is Melinda and I have been living a ‘Diabetic Life’ for eight years. My son Josh was diagnosed at the age of 11 with type 1 Diabetes.

Diabetes Mellitus is Australia’s fastest growing chronic disease. Two hundred and eighty men, women and children are diagnosed daily. That’s one person every 5 minutes!

These statistics become insignificant when it is your child that has just been diagnosed. The diagnosis of a lifelong, life-threatening illness is a parent’s worst nightmare.

All of a sudden your world has forever changed. For the individual and their family it is a life altering experience. As a parent, feeling incapable of ‘fixing’ your child and unable to have any control over the situation it is almost too much to comprehend or accept.

If you have just received the news someone you love and care for is now battling this chronic disease, then I send you my loving thoughts.

I want you to know that despite the emotions and numbness you are feeling right now, I want to reassure you of a couple of points –

  • you will become comfortable in the management of this disease
  • a happy healthy family life is achievable
  • you are never alone – coping gets easier with support, practice and love
  • Your heartbreak will ease
  • Your child will become a stronger and more resilient version of themselves

Our company, Sugar Free Solutions, will provide you with high quality products, up to date news and information, education material, support and useful hints and tips.

Warm wishes and thanks for visiting. Melinda

While this is a really inritesteng in vitro study, it’s not logical to make the leap that you have to say all fruit is bad for you and will cause pancreatic cancer to proliferate. Also, Stevia is not fructose or sugar, so why is it forbidden? I agree with Jenna, you recommended it in your books. Many, many people have THRIVED on a mostly raw diet that includes fruits. You cannot consume a palatable diet that includes zero sugars … we are biologically programmed to seek foods that taste sweet because they are typically safe to eat – not poisonous. Can we eat too much? Sure. Especially the highly processed forms of non-food sweetened with extracted sugars like HFCF. When consumed as a whole fruit, with all the fiber and nutrients, I just can’t see how any natural component would lead to causing or feeding cancer. If the take-away is stay away from processed sugars, I agree. If it’s stay away from whole natural organic fruits … that’s a leap that is unsupported by any research.
